Vision for an Atma Nirbhar Bharat
Atma Nirbhar Bharat or Self Reliant India is an initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a self-reliant country to strengthen the economy of the nation.
Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan or Self-Reliant India Mission aims at making India a nation that will not have to rely on foreign manufacturers and service providers.
This initiative was taken to strengthen the economy of the nation as there was a nationwide lockdown due to the new Coronavirus or Covid19 pandemic. Indian Economy took a big hit as everyone was forced to stay home.
And to face the pandemic, PPE ( Personal Protection Equipment ) kits become essential.
When India was hit by the new Coronavirus or Covid19 in March 2020 India had zero production for the PPE ( Personal Protection Equipment ) kits and now India is producing 2 lakh PPE ( Personal Protection Equipment ) kits every day.
Meanwhile, a lot of automobile industry collaborated to produce ventilators for the healthcare sector.The steps taken to face the pandemic was recognized as an initiative for India to become a self-reliant country.
On 12th May 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the mission to make India a Self-Reliant country. During the announcement, Prime Minister addressed the economic packages to support various sectors of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat mission.
Following the announcement there were five press conferences to address the details for the economic packages, these press conferences were addressed by Finance Minister Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman.
The Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan focuses on 5 pillars:-
- Economy
- Infrastructure
- System
- Vibrant Demography and
- Demand
Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan is a new version of the Make in India movement. Social Media Campaign was based on the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’s tagline #Vocal for Local is used as #VocalforLocal to promote homegrown manufactures and service providers.
The mission Atma Nirbhar Bharat is regionalizing the Indian manufacturers and service providers and helping to create job opportunities.
